A creative haven on the fringe of the desert

open space,

The Rainbow Arts Residency is a creative working and living space located in Rainbow – a remote town situated on Wotjobaluk Country in the Mallee Region of Victoria, Australia.

On the fringe of the Big Desert and the Sunset Country, Rainbow is home to a small population with a passion for art, culture, local histories and the environment. The Residency site is a restored historic building that aims to provide time and space for self-directed creative production, contemplation, experimentation, research and retreat.

The Rainbow Arts Residency welcomes Australian and international artists from all disciplines, including but not limited to visual artists, writers, musicians, dancers, performers and researchers. Emerging, mid-career and established artists are encouraged to apply for the program.

The Rainbow Arts Residency would like to acknowledge that the residency building, and its activities, exist on the traditional lands of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagalk peoples. The Rainbow Arts Residency pays respect to the traditional Elders of this land – past, present and emerging.
